Howdy,
This is Dr. Anthony Metivier.
You know, a few million people have seen this TEDx and got the impression that I'm a super-serious memory expert who is only into ancient and esoteric interests...
It's true...
I am into a lot of ancient stuff. It's a huge part of what has made me effective as a leader in the world of memory improvement.
But I'm also into fun and games.
And when I wrote my Ph.D. dissertation on friendship, I went out of my way to research detective novels and movies because I have always LOVED reading them.
For a few years, I taught Film Studies. A little later, I worked as a story consultant. That means I helped other people "fix" their stories. Sometimes they call this job a "script doctor," and I guess that term fits too.
But after retiring from teaching and "operating" on movie scripts, I started sharing one of my other passions: memory techniques.
Using them is like a game you play in your mind.
And now, after a decade of teaching, writing over a dozen bestselling books and courses, podcasts and videos on my YouTube channel that have reached over 5,000,000 people, I created Memory Detective.
The game is fun, interactive and I wrote a novel to go with it so the game would have a rich, layered and deeply engaging world.
